IGANMODE GRAMMAR SCHOOL (OTA) PROFILE
I ganmode Grammar School, Ota the premier Secondary School, and a foremost post primary institution in Nigeria were founded on the 25th of January, 1960. It started at a temporary site in Sango – Ota with 30 boys’ day students and 3 teachers and Mr. M. A. Adebulugbe as its pionerering Principal. The model school moved to its permanent site at Oju – Ore, along Idiroko Road, Ota in 1961. The establishment of the school was premised on the need to provide a sound Secondary Education to the indigenous Sons of Ota land. This objective became widened to accommodate girls as the importance of girls’ education became more obvious. With admission of girls in 1970 also came the provision of boarding facilities. Since Secondary Education then was for period of five years, the school enrolled candidates for the West African Senior Certificate Education for the first time in November / December, 1965. Chief R.
